Relativisme is die siening dat waarheid afhang van die persoon, die groep of die kultuur: “jou waarheid” en “my waarheid”. Dit sien iets raak wat waar is, naamlik dat ons standpunt beïnvloed wat ons sien. Maar die bewering “alle waarheid is relatief” weerlê homself, want dit wil self vir almal geld.
Relativism is the view that truth depends on the person, the group or the culture: “your truth” and “my truth”. It sees something true, namely that where we stand affects what we see. But the claim “all truth is relative” refutes itself, because it means to hold for everyone.
