Vraag 108: Wat wil God in die sewende gebod hê? Antwoord: Dat alle onsedelikheid deur God vervloek word¹, en dat ons daarom dit van harte moet haat² en kuis en gedissiplineerd moet lewe, hetsy in die heilige huwelik of buite die huwelik³.

Vraag 109: Verbied God in hierdie gebod net owerspel en sulke skandelike sondes? Antwoord: Aangesien ons liggaam en siel tempels van die Heilige Gees is, wil God hê dat ons beide rein en heilig bewaar¹. Daarom verbied Hy alle onkuise dade, gebare, woorde, gedagtes, begeertes² en alles wat die mens daartoe kan verlei³.

Question 109: Does God in this commandment forbid nothing more than adultery and such gross sins? Answer: Since both our body and soul are temples of the Holy Spirit, it is God’s will that we keep both pure and holy.¹ Therefore He forbids all unchaste actions, gestures, words, thoughts, desires,² and whatever may entice us thereto.³
