Vraag 125: Wat is die vierde bede? Antwoord: “Gee ons vandag ons daaglikse brood” beteken: Versorg ons hele liggaamlike lewe¹ sodat ons deur dit wat nodig is, U erken as die enigste bron van alles wat goed is², en dat ons sonder ons sorg of ongeregverdigde vertroue op enige skepsel, ons volle vertroue alleen op U stel³.

Question 125: What is the fourth petition? Answer: “Give us this day our daily bread” means: Provide us with all our bodily needs¹ so that we may acknowledge that Thou art the only source of all that is good,² and that without Thy blessing neither our care and labour, nor Thy gifts, can profit us.³ Grant therefore that we may withdraw our trust from all creatures and place it in Thee alone.³
