Vraag 123: Wat is die tweede bede? Antwoord: “Laat u koninkryk kom” beteken: Regeer ons so deur u Woord en Gees dat ons ons al hoe meer aan U onderwerp¹. Bewaar en vermeerder u kerk². Verwoes die werke van die duiwel, en elke mag wat teen U verhef, en alle bose planne wat teen u heilige Woord bedink word³, totdat die volkomenheid van u ryk kom waarin U alles in almal sal wees⁴.

Question 123: What is the second petition? Answer: “Thy kingdom come” means: So rule us by Thy Word and Spirit that more and more we submit to Thee.¹ Preserve and increase Thy church.² Destroy the works of the devil, every power that raises itself against Thee, and every conspiracy against Thy holy Word,³ until the fullness of Thy kingdom comes wherein Thou shalt be all in all.⁴
